Thesis and Dissertation Formatting Services

Researching, writing, and defending a thesis or dissertation can be stressful enough without also having to worry about adhering to strict style guidelines. I am well-versed in a number of different formats—including APA, MLA, Turabian, and more! I will format your document to your university's exacting specifications, freeing your time and energy to focus on your content and defense.

Thesis and Dissertation Formatting

My standard thesis and dissertation formatting service includes:

  • Formatting your dissertation or thesis according to university guidelines;
  • Reviewing the works cited (including up to one hour of free revisions, if needed);
  • Correcting English spelling and minor grammatical errors (light copy editing);
  • One hour of telephone conference time; and
  • Electronic copies of your finished thesis or dissertation in .doc and .pdf format.

Journal Articles and Books

In addition to theses and dissertations, I also offer formatting services for journal articles and books. Please contact me to discuss your project and request a quote.

Printing

I do not offer printing services, per se. Your local print shop can produce multiple copies of your finished document much more cost-effectively than I can, and I encourage you to take advantage of their services.

For clients in the San Diego area who would like a printout, I can furnish a single laser-printed copy on 24-pound acid-free paper that can be picked up at my home office.

How It Works

While I can and do work with local students face-to-face, I find that the majority of my clients prefer the convenience of online collaboration. Once we have agreed to work with each other, you will simply e-mail your final draft to me as a Microsoft Word document. If your university or program has provided specific formating guidelines, then I will ask that you e-mail these to me, as well.

I will review your document in its entirety, formatting it according to your university's specifications and correcting any spelling errors or minor grammatical errors that I come across—a service known in the publishing world as "light copy editing." I will also check that all references in the reference list are cited in the text, and that all references in the text are cited in the reference list. (For this reason, bibliographies must be complete.) Finally, I will verify that all references both in the text and in the reference list are cited correctly. If extensive editing of your references is required, one hour is provided at no extra charge. If additional time is needed, it will be charged at $35.00 per hour.

My turnaround time is approximately 5-10 business days, depending upon the length of your document. Once I have completed it, I will contact you to request payment. Please note that payment in full is due before work is picked up or received electronically. Work will not be released until payment in full is received. If a copy (print or electronic) is requested prior to completion, the amount owed up to that point must be paid before a copy is furnished.

Should rework be necessary, my mistakes will be cheerfully and promptly corrected free of charge. Your revisions will be made at the hourly rate. Normally, work is stored for 6 months; longer storage may be arranged.

Technical Specifications

All word processing is done in Windows 7 Professional, Microsoft Word. Due to variations in printers and software, formatting cannot be guaranteed to remain intact and print correctly from the Microsoft Word document. The PDF file should be used for submittal to a university or publisher.

Clients should always proofread the final manuscript before submitting it to a university or publisher.
